1. The service
Censory provides AI-assisted document redaction. By using the service you agree to these terms. We've tried to keep them short and in plain language.
2. Your data
To detect personal data, each page image is processed by our AI detection services (see the Privacy Policy for details and the sub-processor register); the rest of the redaction is assembled and stored by Censory. The censored output is stored in object storage scoped to your account (see the Privacy Policy for where data lives). The uncensored original is deleted by default once you finalize a document; if you choose to keep it, it is removed after a retention period. You can delete originals or whole items at any time. We never share your documents with third parties other than the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy.
3. Credits and billing
1 credit redacts 1 page. Subscriptions grant a monthly allotment that resets each period. Top-ups stack on top and never expire. Checkout is processed by Polar, our payment provider (merchant of record), in a secure hosted checkout that charges your card.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Censory to fabricate, conceal, or destroy evidence; to circumvent legal disclosure obligations; or to redact documents you are not authorized to handle. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that obviously violate this clause.
5. No warranty
Censory is provided as-is. While we ship redaction that is provably text-removed (not just visually covered), AI detection is not perfect, so review the output before relying on it for legal or compliance purposes. We are not liable for missed PII.
6. Security incidents
You are the controller of the documents you upload; we process them on your instructions. If we become aware of a personal-data breach affecting them, we will notify you without undue delay under Art. 33(2) GDPR, with the information you need to make your own assessment and your own notifications — what happened, which categories of data and roughly how many records are involved, the likely consequences, and what we have done about it. You will hear it from us, not from a third party, and you will hear it while it is still incomplete rather than after it is tidy. 7. Changes
