Cookie Policy

Last updated 2026-08-16

Draft pending legal review — it describes what Censory stores on your device today.

This policy explains what Censory stores on your device, what each item is for, how long it stays, and how to change your mind. Nothing on this page involves your documents: no cookie and nothing in your browser's storage ever holds document content or document names.

Cookies and browser storage

"Cookies" is the shorthand, but the rule covers anything stored on your device, so this page covers both: cookies, which are sent back to the site that set them, and local storage, which stays in your browser and is sent nowhere. Everything listed here is set by Censory itself. We use no advertising tags, no fingerprinting and no third-party tracking.

On this site (censory.app)

This site asks before anything optional is stored. The items marked always on are strictly necessary — they do something you asked for, such as keeping the language you picked. Analytics is off until you accept it: until then the analytics code is not even loaded, so there is nothing running and nothing stored.

In the application (live.censory.app)

The application has no banner. It requires an account, and the Terms of Service you accept at sign-up cover the storage it needs to work — keeping you signed in and protecting your requests. Analytics there is cookieless by default: usage is counted anonymously, nothing is written to your device, and it is linked to your account only if you turn that on in Profile → Privacy & data.

Your choice, and changing it

Rejecting the banner — or ignoring it — means no analytics code is loaded. Silence is never treated as consent. Your choice is kept in your browser and sent to no one; the banner itself makes no external requests. You can change your mind at any time, here or from the cookie icon on the site, and withdrawal takes effect immediately.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Your browser can block or delete cookies and clear local storage, for every site or just for this one — look under Settings → Privacy. Blocking the strictly necessary items has a cost: this site will ask for your language and theme again on every visit, and the application will not be able to keep you signed in.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when the product changes — for example when a cookie's purpose or lifetime changes, or a new provider is involved. Material changes are communicated to users, and where a change needs consent, we ask again.
